- As previously mentioned, the race unlocking feature is no longer really relevant now that the career mode is implemented. Therefore, all races will be accessible in this section. The difference with the career mode is that only two challenges will be available. The practice mode will be reinstated with track selection (only those tracks available in the car set selected by the player).
- The weather is currently loaded when launching the racing module. However, the player should be informed of the current weather conditions on that track when selecting their race, so they can adjust their settings accordingly. I will move this to the game’s start, loading all track weather conditions (for those playing with real-world weather). The player will know the weather conditions before the race. Ideally, I will see if I can put this in a separate thread. This will allow for future weather updates every thirty minutes (for example) and prepare for variable weather.
- In career mode, I’m going to slightly reduce the physics of the Supercars, but I’m going to add a tuning system through the purchase of parts (wings, anti-roll bars, weight reduction, engine upgrades, etc.) with visual modifications too. This will give players the option to either improve their existing car or buy a new one.
- Regarding multi-threading, currently, after several tests on different machines, the existing implementation offers virtually no performance gains. I’m considering migrating the graphics to a separate thread. Furthermore, this module only displays data and doesn’t modify anything in the main program, including the simulation.
